Family and Children's Ministry!
Here in Grande Prairie, AB you will find a young and growing community. This could not be more evident and present at St. Joseph Parish. With over 4100 families registered in our parish, there are so many ways for your family to join in our community life.
Our Family and Children’s programs aim to make community connections, to help families become active participants in the sacraments and liturgy, and support parents their roles as “first teachers of the faith.”

Our Programs:
Liturgy of the Word With Children
During every Sunday (and Saturday evening) mass during the liturgy of the Word, we invite children from age 4 to grade 3 to join us after the opening prayer for liturgy that is appropriate for children's age.
Moms' Group
(formerly known as "Ladies' Walk With Me" On Thursdays women gather at the parish for fellowship, faith sharing, prayer. Children are welcome! Gatherings are from 10-12 Noon.
SALT (Sharing And Learning Together)
Our Thursday evening children's program for children in grade 3-6. A place for kids to grow in faith and friendship, with fun games, activities, snacks, prayer, and fellowship. We meet from 7-8:30pm in the St. JPII Room.
Annual Events:
All Saints Party
Weekend before November 1st. Dress up as your favourite saint or character and join in the fun.
Blessing Bags
Mid-November Prepare bags filled with warm winter-wear and a caring note to give to people in need.
Advent Wreath Making
First Sunday of Advent Families gather in the Tranquille hall to create Advent wreaths traditionally used for prayer during Advent.
La Posada Festival
Las Posadas, celebrated yearly from December 16-24, is a religious festival traditionally held in Mexico and parts of Latin America. Translating to ‘The Inns’ in Spanish, Las Posadas is an important part of the Christmas festivities.
Mardi Gras
Weekend before Ash Wednesday Parish-wide event with food, dancing, photobooths, prizes, and fun!
