Here are a number of faith-based statements which can be used as prayer starters.  Each one stands on its own and is intended to stimulate prayerful thought.

If you don’t find grace in what you are doing then you are probably not where you need to be (spiritually or literally).  Change your motivation or your activity until you find grace.

Doubt for the Christian is like the Red Sea to the Israelites.  Both need to be parted in order to move forward.  This can only be done with the exercise of faith given.

The devil has two weapons that he uses a lot.  One is fear and the other is distraction.  Both tend to keep one from moving forward in faith.

Self-centeredness is the greatest of all spiritual sicknesses.  For it was the disease that destroyed the devil and made him into a destroyer of all that is good.

Either the Lord and his promises are my highest priority … or, something else is.  Whatever is my highest priority is my god.

When you focus on good, that is what shapes your heart.  When you focus on evil, that is what gains power in you.

Job 3:25

What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.  I have no peace, no quietness;
What I focus on gains influence in my life … if good then good … if fear of loss then loss.
How quickly hope is replaced with discouragement and complaining when something seems to go wrong.

Fear of what may happen in future will rob us of the fullness of life God wants to give us in the present.

The athlete cannot perform until the day of the big game.  Until then he prepares.  So it is with those who wait for the right time to speak for God.

Intercessory prayer is a way of carrying a cripple (spiritually) to Jesus so that he can be healed.  It is perhaps the greatest good that can be done for a person.

I entered this world wondering where I fit in.  Life for me was at times a search for my place.  Then in old age younger people came and took my place at work and at volunteer positions.  Even the culture seems to have no room for me.  And so I started out wondering where I fit in, and at the end realized that I don’t really fit in. I am just passing through trying to help others pass through as well.  My real home is not here but heaven.  I best shift my focus from this world foolishness to the priorities of Jesus in order to prepare for the move.  Such is the lot of the old.

It would seem to me that all I really have is the day that I am in.  And all I can really do is make the best of it.  It also seems to me that God, if he is to be found, will be found today.

Before I can walk with God I must learn to let Him walk with me at all times.

It is foolish to think that somehow we can be free from sin and always make the right choice while we are in the body.  If this were possible Jesus would not have had to die for our sins.

To love is to give life … all that does not give life is not from God.

Love (charity) is eternal.  To love is to pray without ceasing.
